Life’s a Drag – Exhibition at Central Library
Exhibition at Central Library on the history of drag in Manchester
Life’s a Drag celebrates the history of drag in Manchester, beginning with the infamous Hulme Drag Ball of 1870, taking you right up to date with Manchester’s current outrageously Gender Queer drag revolution.
This exhibition at Central Library will draw on personal stories, oral history interviews, archival material, and artwork created for the project. Guided tours will be available on certain dates.
From Foo Foo Lamarr to Anna Phylactic, from Jerome Caminada to Roxy Hart, Life's a Drag is a year-long project uncovering the secrets of Manchester’s drag stories and histories, through performance, exhibitions, workshops and a drag seminar, oral history and getting your drag on.
