Black History Month has been celebrated every October for many years to honour the achievements, culture and history of black people. The Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre have put together a fantastic series of events to celebrate including a lecture from Professor Lou Kushnick OBE about the US Civil Rights movement, a special performance of Call Mr Robeson, a screening of Moving Memories: Tales from Moss Side and Hulme and much more.  There will also be a Carnival archive handling session where you can come and share your memories of Moss Side Caribbean Carnival.  Click here for details of all our events. Throughout Black History Month there will be other activities running, including storytelling sessions for under-fives, introductory sessions for school pupils, storytelling and craft activities at the Saturday Spectacular on October 18th.  The library of Black History resources is open as usual throughout the month. Here's something from the North West Film Archive to spark your memories. Alexandra Park Pageant 27th June 1970 from NWfilmarchive on Vimeo.
