A Library Transformed
When Central Library re-launches in spring 2014, it will be a cultural venue like never before…
Through a major refurbishment and expansion programme, Manchester Central Library is being completely transformed. Its heritage features are being lovingly restored. New comfortable spaces and modern facilities will increase access to knowledge, nurture creative talent and boost the regional economy.
When re-relaunched in spring 2014, the venue will engage and empower the city’s diverse communities with world class information services. National and international visitors will enjoy a vibrant educational and cultural programme.
Manchester Central Library Development Trust (registered charity no. 1150161) supports this work by helping to fund new facilities, services and resources to enhance the jewel in the crown of the library service. It will help make the venue be the best it can possibly be for visitors old and new. It will help to ensure the library benefits all of the city’s communities.
The Trust will help the venue to stay dynamic and sustainable for many years to come by funding new acquisitions, conservation work, educational and cultural programming and the work of new focal points such as centre of excellence, Archives+.
