Archives+ Blog
A large focus of the Archives+ project is on encouraging new audiences to engage with archives. The Archives+ blog is made up of short pieces, mostly written by volunteers, engaging with our collections. Lots of these volunteers are young and new to archives, and we hope that their reaction to the material will inspire others too. We've had posts about Lancashire World War 1 Football, Yuri Gagarin's Visit to Manchester and John Lennon's Knees and there are many more to come.
We love to hear your comments, thoughts and feedback. We've discovered some fascinating connections this way, social media is a fantastic way to pool knowledge. Please always remember that most of our writers aren't professional historians or archivists, they are just regular people who have found something that interested them.
So come and have a browse through the blog, and if you find something interesting/confusing/challenging or just plain wrong please let us know. We're also on Facebook and Twitter if you'd prefer to join us there.
